11/1/2022 0 Comments Rune 2 forumsDuped runes are usually above a MAL, so you are safe trading for runes up to this level. I have a mule which does nothing but this - cubes and stores runes. Trade these items to other players for runes. So what to do? Well, search for runes (the countess in act 1 is a good place) but also search for good set and unique items. In Nightmare and Hell level games, the runes found can be even better. Up to AMN are quite common with up to DOL being feasible. Of course you'll find higher (low) runes easily during the game. To reach a MAL (lowest HR) you would need 3 raised to the power of 14 x 2 raised to the power of 3 or 38,263,752 TALs. Naturally, to reach a high rune in this manner will take some time and number of lower runes. In other words, if I have three TALs, I can cube them into 1 RAL. It generally takes three runes of a certain type (up to a PUL) to make the next higher rune. That is: search for lower runes by the bushel and cube them up to the higher runes (receipes on Arreat Summit). So if the runes are next to impossible to find, and you don't want to trade for high runes, there is a third solution. And yes, a duped rune inserted in an item can poof as well. When Blizzard runs 'ruststorm', these runes are often found and automatically deleted (poofed). You can trade for them, but then you run the risk of trading for a 'duped' rune (one which has been illegimately duplicated by a player). Many of the runewords require one or more high runes (HR) to complete. #RUNE 2 FORUMS MODS#This is much better than the simple mods from the runes: #RUNE 2 FORUMS PLUS#You'll be rewarded with the new item displaying the runeword SPIRIT and the runes used, plus some great mods (spirit is one of the more popular words) Then socket the runes in the right order to make the word. That's going to be a 4 os shield (plain, remember?) and the runes TAL - THUL - ORT - AMN. Next you'll have to find or trade for the socketed item (let's say a shield that you want to make the SPIRIT runeword in). It is wasteful to make runewords just to make them unless you have so many runes you don't know where to keep them all (that's not very likely). You'll have to go over the listing of runewords in Arreat Summit and choose the word that meets your character's needs. #RUNE 2 FORUMS FULL#However, a full list of words and what they do is available on Arreat Summit (that's Blizzard's official D2 website). The runewords available are too numerious to mention here. Again, you'll get the mods for the runes, but not the runeword bonus's. Trying to make HOTO with a four socketed shield will not make the runeword. That is, to make Heart of the Oak (HOTO), you must use a staff or mace. So in simple terms, spelling counts.Ĥ) Runewords MUST be used in the correct item. #RUNE 2 FORUMS MOD#If you were to place the runes into the shield say as ORT - TAL - RAL, you would get the mod for each rune, but not the benefit of the runeword. This gives the full benefit of the runeword. For example, to make Ancients Pledge you would need a 3 os shield and the runes TAL, RAL and ORT. If not correctly added, you get the benefit of the rune mod, but not the benefit of the runeword (which is MUCH greater). You must use a four os flail.ģ) Runes must be placed into the item in the correct order to gain the benefit of the runeword. In other words, you cannot use a 5 open socketed (os) flail to make a four rune runeword such at Heart of the Oak. You can socket plain items yourself with the proper cube receipe (check Arreat Summit for this) however it's just as easy to find these items as you progress thru the game.Ģ) The number of sockets on the item must match the number of runes needed to make the runeword. It might have mods, but the item itself is not special in any way. ġ) As stated above, the socked item must be a plain item. Using the proper runeworded item with your character can vastly enhance his/her performance. By plain, I mean the item is not magic (blue), rare (yellow), unique (gold) or a set (green) item. You don't "find" runewords, you make them out of runes and plain socketed items. Click to expand.Hi from one old fart to another (LOL).
